A better move for S&W than changing a name, would be relocating their manufacturing to another state.

I get the sentiment behind that, but it's not practical. Their setup in Massachusetts isn't something that can just be picked up and moved. In addition to the heavy equipment that would have to be offline for a while, too many experienced folks with deep ties to the area may not want to leave. Moving may well be a very bad call for S&W (or whatever they're called now) if they ever did it...I wouldn't.

It can and has been done before, Freedom Group closed or greatly reduced production of a few gun makers and moved them to Alabama, namely Remington, DPMS, AAC etc.  If it makes financial sense, a company will move, and sometimes, it's not all about finance such as when Magpul announced they were pulling out of CO due to the Mag Ban they passed.

I'm not worried about the Remington Brand though, as long as I don't see "American Outdoor Brands Corp 700 in .308" on an ad for a rifle.

How did their heavy equipment get where it is now? They can move. They don't even have a long gun line. I doubt they make any of the parts for their AR's. Companies with highly skilled people move all the time. When it comes down to it, the company owns the expertise.

They also pay to re-locate employees. The employee can move or decline. After all, it's just that easy according to some here on this forum.

It was a no brainer. Obama stoked the anti-gun panic hard for eight years. Everybody that ever wanted a gun wound up with at least four. It's saturated.

Naw, I could buy a few more. :)
