Hey TGO members, looking for your insight on this model. I might be getting one on trade and after all my research I can't find a recent thread on approximate value.

It's a Kimber Classic Custom Series 1 Yonkers. Excellent condition with only minor wear. According to owner it's made in 97-98.

Anyone have experience with these?

They are easily one of the more relished Kimber models-series 70 with no firing pin drop safety-namely the Schwartz system.I would go on Gunbroker and see if there are any Kimber models to compare prices. It is valued a bit higher than the newer models due to being a Yonkers made pistol.

Thanks. I didn't look at past sales.

You are welcome. You need to be logged into an account (it’s free) to search past sales. But to me it’s a far better indicator than the prices of what’s listed for sale.

Actually, it's the ones rollmarked "Clackamas OR" that are the premium ones. There's only 5,000 of those. I had one, it was probably the best 1911 I've ever owned. There was never one actually built in OR, they've all been made in Yonkers, but they had parts built and rollmarked there before they moved.

The early Kimbers were excellent as they were working hard to dethrone Colt at the time.
