TN / GA / AL Training Group

Subject: Pistol Sniping - Short range precision and long range performance.

On Saturday Nov 19 we will hold our November meeting for the TN/GA/AL Regional Suarez Int Training Group! (Everyone is welcome)

Instructor: Tier 1 Suarez Int Staff Instructor Randy Harris

Location: The usual place- Phillips/Edwards Farm 763 County Rd 332 Pisgah AL 35765

Time: 9AM CENTRAL time - 3PM CENTRAL time

Price: $60 - pay at class cash or check.

What you need to bring: Pistol, pistol magazines and at least 150 rounds of ammo. Revolvers are welcome if you want to party like it is 1899.

We will work on smoothing out our pistol skills and will shoot several challenging drills (like the challenging Military 221- Excellence in Competition Match ) and work to be more competent and confident with the weapon we carry most...our pistol. Rifles are awesome but they are not always close by. The pistol is far more likely to be the weapon you will have in hand be it robbery, terrorism or whatever. This will give participants a chance to shoot some timed and scored drills and get a feel for where their skill level is and see where they can improve especially at distance.

Looking forward to seeing you there!

Thought it was a good investment of time, travel and training.

What I learned: I finished the timed drills before time was up, if I slow my roll my accuracy should likely improve.

Learned some 3 yard accuracy shooting drills, can use live and dry. Should further improve my 20-30 yard shooting.

Why I was a little trigger happy: After extensive dry fire in DA @6.5#, when I got to live fire in SA @ 3.5#, it was magic, that wanted to go fast.

Made some new friends and Bob K is an inspiration, his stroke recovery is nothing but amazing - a testament to a commit to hard work, commitment to therapy and a positive attitude.

For gear, I used my High Noon Upper Cut, a high riding AIWB. One of my favorites and a budget price point.

Because of the belt loops on my pants, I couldn't position my owb mag holder where I wanted it, so I worked out of pockets, specifically my field coat with large square-cut flapped pockets. Had to slow down my reloads a bit to ensure a good grip on the fresh mag.

On a side note, I test fired my M1 Carbine with new rail. Partial fail. Back to the drawing board.

Consider training with Randy, he's a pretty good dude. I checked, been his client since June 2012
