This has to do with my little brother & it happened today. He got a .40 for Xmas from his wife but hasnt got any ammo yet. He bought some Blazer @ Wally World for the range but the were out of all self defense ammo. So my brother calls me this morning & said he was in Chattanooga @ some place called Star Pawn & Gun & said its more of a gun shop than a pawn & they even have a couple LCP,s in the case for sale. He was looking for some Personal Defense ammo He asked about Black Talon type ammo the guy told him HE would automatically get 15 years for every round in the magazine plus the 1 in the chamber for any teflon coated ammo. What kind of crazy talk is that. So then my brother goes on to tell me He got the most powerfel ammo there is & if I had ever heard of Extreme shock. So I guess now he has 5 rounds of personal defense. I said nothing & will take him to Bass Pro to get some Winchester Supreme. My little brother is really new to guns but is a very fast learner.

Funny how things like this spread.

Last weekend I was visiting a friend of my father in laws and he was showing us his new tripple beam scale and asked if I had anything to weigh. I pulled my magazine from my sidearm and popped out the first round and handed it to him.

He takes one look at it and said the exact same thing. "15 years if you get caught with this boy! Teflon coated bullets is illegal!"

Urban Legends are a bitch!

I used to want to try to correct people when they said things like that. Now, I'm a cynical butthead and I don't care what (some) other people think. Any time someone says something like that to me, I just say, "Yeah, well, I don't care. Let them try to come and get me."

Lol one of my friends told some of his friends I have a machine gun and they said "isnt he worried about getting caught and going to jail" lol.

Haha yeah, I had to have the "machine guns aren't illegal" talk with my girlfriends dad last night...

Between that and the "No, your uncle can't legally convert his Colt AR to select-fire just because it has LE/M markings on it" talk that I had to have with her brother a few weeks ago, I'm starting to think I need to have a sit down with her whole Fam Damily...

I can't tell you how many people I've talked to who think it's against the law to own a full-auto weapon, then there are those who think it's perfectly legal to turn your semi-auto into a full-auto.

Hell, my daughters aunt, (my ex's side of the family) saw my AR while my daughter was showing her our house. The next day I get a call from that side of the family wanting to know why I have an illegal machine gun in the house.:)

Yes, I know this has nothing to do with ammo, but kinda fits the topic.

That reminds me of an experience I had at Academy several months ago. They had a Bushmaster ORC on the wall, and I asked to see it. As I was fondling it, the guy at the counter just had to add:

"You know you can dremel down the trigger group and make that a full-auto"

Dumbass...
