Anybody reloaded their hunting ammo yet?

I need to try and load me some ammo today. I got my muzzleloader sighted in good, and I want to get my ammo squared away pretty quick too. I'm hoping that I don't have to work this Saturday.

I've been loading some 300 BLK and 308 win for a while now trying to get them dialed in.  The 300 BLK is on at 100 yards for me with the Hornady 125 SST but I recently got my hands on some Barnes Blacktips 110 that I want to give a try as well.  Everyone speaks well of them, so thought I would jump on board also.

The 308 is shooting well with 125 Nosler Ballistic Tips.  I really like the 125 grainers after years of shooting 150's and 180's.  Nice little thump on both ends of the gun!!

Haven't loaded for this season yet. I have a few loads left from last year. This year will be fun because I have a range membership as well as having my head wrapped around how to tweak my loads. They're about an MOA apart. This was from the first round I did and loaded several after I found it would be adequate. They have gotten me deer, so now I can dial it in.

Are you able to find the projectile in anything you've put down?  I've only found bits of shrapnel. All through and through.

This is my first year with the 300 BLK so no hunting results yet there.  It actually was the 300 that caused me to research and try the light for caliber Nosler with the 308.  I'm hoping to put both to the test here in a couple of weeks.

I've only found one 150gr bullet over the years from the 308 and that was a lengthwise shot that ended up under the skin under the neck.  What a mess!  I had a quartering away shot that was solid until the deer hunched down to jump a small limb just as the trigger broke.  No blood for about 25 yards through a very tight thicket but at 30 yards the blood trail was unmistakeable.  I salvaged the meat by acting fast to get him cleaned up and washed out but I hope to never make one of those shots again.

Sierra game king bullets are accurate and good for deer sized  animals. I have used the 100 grain 6mm and 140 grain .280 Remington with good results.

Me I had started using Speer Grand Slam bullets back in the early 80's, they are hard to come by now so a few years I just bought a box of what ever they had, silvertips, partitions, intelocks etc, haven't found a bullet yet that has failed me.  Midsouth just happened to have some Grand Slam bullets for both my .270 and .308 so I purchased enough to last me quite some time, perhaps a lifetime seeing as I only shoot 5-6 a year.

The Sierra pro hunter is my choice for whitetail. Often they fall in their tracks
