What kind of material are these 1911 grips?

I had two pairs that look similar to those. One pair was giraffe none. The other from water buffalo. Look on eBay and look at 1911 bone grips. You'll see what I'm talking about.

After comparing these to a lot of grips online, I think @gregintenn is correct.  A pair of smooth elk antler grips were the closest in color, grain and pattern.

HAHA!  I wish.  I think these will look good on a 1911.  Now to find the right 1911 to put them on.

Don't have anything nickel plated. I think they wil look good contrasted against a nice dark frame.

I might be able to put you into one if you're willing to part with some of those single action Colts I saw in another thread.:D
