I'm looking for some night sights for my M&P. I really like the XS standard dot but not sure they sell them for my gun yet. Anybody got these sight on there gun, and how do you like them? Also if anyone recommends any other night sight let me hear it, I'm not stuck on the XS brand.

I have the XS standard dot on one of my Glocks, and thy're OK.. I just haven't been as impressed with them as I thought I would. Also, I find I have to really concentrate to shoot good groups. I have both Heinie and Trijicon night sights on two of my other glocks and really prefer them. I would look at other types of sights before deciding.. just my :koolaid:

I have put Ameri-Glo on my Glock G20 and G23. Very pleased with them - also easy installation. They have a "two piece rear sight assembly". Has a sleeve which slides into the dovetail and the "sight body" is secured to the sleeve with two allen headed set screws. This makes for an easy installation as well as ease of windage adjustments. Once windage is set, loosen one screw, apply loctite and tighten, repeat for second screw. Works very well for me.

I have used the XS Big Dots but wasn't too impressed either. They are fast up close but up close and fast point shooting works too. I prefer not to give up the precision for longer shots.

I have used both Trijicons and Meprolights and love both. I have seen the Ameriglos up close too and wouldn't hesitate to use them. I might actually try the Ameriglos next time I need to add/replace sights. They have a lot of different options so check them out - outlines, no outline, black rear, etc.

EDIT: Second thought ... another issue I had with the XS sights was that the front dot was so big it seemed to cover up more of the target - good for fast, but not precision or a better sight picture. I had a problem transitioning between these sights and the three dot sights on my other pistols. I don't recommend the XS Big Dots unless you have them on all your pistols. While transitioning between the two sight systems I found them to actually be a bit slower ... which defeats the purpose of them in the first place.

I've got trijcon on my XD and I love them. One aditional use I didn't think about was, it makes finding the gun at night on my night stand easy.
