Smoky Mountain Gun and Knife Show this weekend, Jan 3 & 4, at the White County Fairgrounds in Sparta.

I went to the last one and didn't find anything I wanted or needed but I'll probably go again, just in case there is something I can't live without.

This isn't the normal show held at Sparta in March and October, right? This is the outfit that has been putting on "shows" in Maryville, Sevierville, etc., correct?

I will be there doing recruitment. This show is being put on by mwxmarketing, smoky mountain gun and knife shows. They did one in Cleveland this past weekend, and in Crossville about a month ago or so.

Sparta show is usually small, but there is a ridiculous amount of stuff at it.

I will make the drive up Sat AM then.

A couple of folks who came through my shop after the Crossville show said they thought it was pretty decent, so hopefully it's at least worth a drive into town. :chill:

By the way, I just found you guys & thought I'd better do a first post.

The last time I went to the show in Sparta I swore I would never go back, it was CROWDED !!!!!!! I mean so crowded you could not move.

That venue is to small, they need move to a bigger place.

That being said I will probaly drive over Sat. if nothing else is going on.

It is extremely crowded. It needs to be in a larger building, its pretty much shoulder to shoulder. However, the tables (at least the 2 times i've been) have been all but stacked in a pile with stuff for sale, from reloading components up to class 3 firearms. Also, with that many people stuffed into the show there is a lot walking around.

Went to the Sparta gun show today. There was a large crowd, but the tables seem to have more flea market items than that of a gun show.

Yeah, this one sure didn't have the guns the Mid State Sportsman Club shows usually have! I guess if you're into "T" shirts, jewelry, cheap or really weird looking knives, swords, tables of olive drab metal objects that must have some purpose, or airsoft guns it was OK. If Ken's Guns hadn't been there with his what looked to me to be awfully high priced stuff spread over about a dozen tables, there wouldn't have been much that interested me. I was hoping to find some powder & primers, but didn't see any there at all.

Oh well, the Mid State Sportsman's show will be in a couple of months......

I didn't bother. I haven't heard a good word about this promoter from a reliable source yet. When I learned Ken's Guns was the main dealer at these shows, that sealed it for me.

The owner of Ken's Guns would stop folks in the aisle near his tables at RK Shows if he thought they were buying or selling from one another and give them a tongue-lashing. When he tried to get several other dealers to complain to ATF with him about unlicensed buying/selling among members of the public, RK gave him the swift kick in the arse he deserved and he is persona non grata at RK Shows now.

I went to the show today......it was small and what they did have was mostly overpriced...but I had fun. I got to meet a fellow TGO'er and bought a gun from him....they gave my son a free air soft pistol at the door.....I sold a gun for what I wanted out of it.....and I also went home with a magnetic necklace that's supposed to cure my neck arthritis (hey, at least it looks good :ugh:) and a new Gerber pocketknife. :)
