Couple of blades from my friend's forge

Here's a couple of blades my buddy hammered out in his forge. I'm making sheaths for both of them now. I just gave the top one back to him today so he can finish building it for his Dad. He still needs to finish the grip, polish the blade, and put an edge on it. The one on the bottom is his every day carry knife. He's been carrying that one for a good while now. It's been a good one. I think I've got him talked into making some blades to sell, but so far he's been one of those guys whose happy to make something for family or tribe and enjoy the process. I'm glad he's the one enthused about heating and hammering steel. Looks a lot like work.

There are many things I wish I could do.  Forging various items - with knives and tomahawk heads chief among them - is high on that list.

Here's his dad's. He's still not quite done with it, but it's looking better. I better get to work on that sheath!

I agree. I've been watching the Forged in Fire, and it sure makes it look fascinating.
