Beat me to the punch. I guess that also means my Cabela's card will soon be a capital one card.

Wierd... I just saw the BassPro billboard on my way to work this morning and thought about this topic. I figured it wasn't going to happen, but I signed on with the intentions of finding the old thread about it and asking f anyone had any updates. Wierd.

I'm disappointed. I like both stores, but Cabelas just has more of an out-West outfitter store. I have the Cabelas credit card that I use for business purposes. I'm bummed :(

Booooooo. I like Bass Pro alright, but Cabelas has always had a better product selection and usually slightly better prices. Oh well. So much for that.

It's just the same ole story! if you can't beat your competition buy them. I have always prefered Cabela's over BPS. I don't know exactly when they built this one in Nashville but I do know how many times I have been in it. 2 and both times I was riding with someone else and they just decided to stop while we were out................

I too prefer Cabelas, but Cabelas is leveraged pretty bad and their biggest investor is looking to cash out. Business is what business is.

NOOOOOooooooooo!!!!!   hahaha!

Agreed with all - Cabelas had better product selection... and was less kitchy.   :D ... hard to be outdoors without being influenced by Johnny Morris - from Ranger all the way down to Tracker & Tahoe... now even Cabelas.    On the good side, a public entity went back private.  On the bad side, two large outdoor equipment and firearm retailers just got consolidated -- in the long run, that could be bad for us on multiple levels.  Time will tell.

$5.5 Billion must be clearing out a TON of online competition.  5.5 billlllllllllionnnnnnnn dollars.
