Gander Mtn Mt Juliet?

I've been to several Gander Mtn locations but not that one. In general the chain feels like the K-mart of stores with Rolls Royce pricing...

I'd say it's similar to slightly higher quality than Academy, but with REI prices. Kind of like Bass Pro. Just like Bass Pro, the prices on most guns are just stupid.

I went to the Cabela's in Bowling Green KY and really liked the store and products. Seemed like they were better prices than BPS plus a lot of items in stock.

IIRC my FIL like Gander b/c they will price match Rural King's price on firearms, which is often very good though almost 30 min further drive from their house.

I know for a fact that the Gander Mountain in Knoxville will price match within a certain distance with other stores.  My stepson found a pistol he wanted at GM and they price matched it with the Bud's store in Sevierville.  Other than that their prices are generally way too high.

I find the staff working there friendly and helpful as well. This is something hard to find anymore.

How is the store compared to BPS or Cabela's?

May visit shortly. Been to the one in Paducah Ky and was not impressed but that was a few years ago.

I have been in a couple of Gander Mountains in the past, and was never impressed.  I went into the one in Mount Juliet yesterday, and they had some great sales on a few items I needed.  The normal prices were high, but deep discounts on sale merchandise.

Personally, I find Cabela's store labels to be a little higher quality than BPS or GM.

Unless you have another, better reason for coming to the Mt. Juliet area, don't waste your time.

Like others have said, the pricing isn't very good. Selection is usually good, but again, that pricing thing. It's a nice looking store, and all the people I've met in there are nice, but that just doesn't outweigh everything else. I don't go there, and I'm 20 minutes away.

Mount Juliet native here. I agree, don't make a special trip just for Gander. I go all the time to window shop for ideas because it's nearby but I very rarely buy anything beyond the occasional t-shirt. Ammo is high, guns are higher.

I lost a streamlight pocket light a year ago and it was DOUBLE the MSRP.

They do price match however. Friend of mine wanted to buy a Ruger LC9s and I found it cheaper elsewhere, got him the discounted price. Here's the crazy part... The girl who wrung him up forgot to give him the price match. He didn't notice it until the next day (she was cute, he was too busy being doe-eyed). He went back to Gander, told them about it and they honored it! I couldn't believe it.
