PSA 9mm upper — will it fit only fit their 9mm lower?

PSA has been running this 9mm upper which seems a pretty good deal. But I don't know enough about them. Says it only fits their 9mm lower. I was thinking you could use a standard lower for 9mm if you added a mag adapter?

ive bought one of the upper kits before and it worked fine on a rock river arms lower with the mag block.so unless they went to some kind of proprietary upper you should be fine.

I have one on a CMMG MK9 lower and I can state that combo works fine as well.

It says this one uses Glock mags or Colt mags. Is this a function of the lower or this particular upper?

what mags it uses is determined by the lower.also that upper comes with hybrid bolt so it can work with either lower.so get a lower that uses glock mags if you have a surplus...if not get the colt lower either works.its a personal preference.

I got a 9mm upper from them earlier this year, planning on putting it together later. Before I got into the build, PSA came out with the U/L combo for 9mm mags and I got one. It works great.

So that left me with the original upper. It mated with the Glock style lower, but wouldn't function. so I started asking PSA what it took to make it work. It took a while to get an answer. I guess they wanted to sell more of the newer units first. I was told at the NRA show that I could soon order on of the new "Hybrid" 9mm bolts and it would work with the Glock mag style lower.

I finally got one, and it does. Now waiting to get my hands on one of the lowers that have the "last round bolt hold open" capability. I saw recently that they are now selling those separately instead of as a completed unit. They seem to go pretty fast.
