The film had a limited release in North America on December 12, 2008; Gran Torino will have a wide release on January 9, 2009.

A friend had a screener of it. I think they did the limited release as to get it into the 2008 oscars.

I saw the previews of it when i went to see Twilight (for the 2nd time).

It looked awesome! An old war vet breaks out the Garand and 1911 and goes to war with gang members. THAT'S entertainment!!!!!!!! I plan on seeing it soon.

I went with my wife. As a matter of fact, she just ordered the entire series in hardback. She'll read 'em first, and I'll probably read them some time this summer. I'm so far behind on my reading list.....
