That’s a target gun; not a carry gun. Not really any point in the added cost of .40; I would go with 9mm for a range or competition gun.

It’s touted on their website as “designed for IPSC standard division (USPSA limited division)”. So you kinda have to smile at “tactical” being in its name. I’ve never shot one, so I would want to know the accuracy. Also their website lists that gun as “Steel” not “stainless”; so what’s that finish?

Hmm, reasons NOT to buy?

Big, heavy and limited use

.40 short&weak. All the stopping power of the 45 and the penetration of the 9mm.

Tall sights made for snagging on stuff.

Aside from that, if you want it and can afford it, Get it.

It's a target gun, not a carry gun. Dave TN says it all.

I think what he's saying is that he's buying the normal tactical and wants to know who can mod it to look like the one in his photo. Correct me if I'm wrong.

Yup , looks like added an aluminum trigger, polished the bluing off the slide/releases, added the aluminum mag well, and chopped the dust cover. The chopping is not really necessary for me, the polishing of the slide and other parts are where I will prob need help.

Both pics you posted are of the Tactical Sport models, which means they come from the factory setup for SAO (like a 1911). I've shot one, they are really fun to shoot...almost to the point where it feels like cheating. I'm not the best shot in the world, yet I was able to stack shots on top of one another with almost no effort. It really is an awesome range toy.

If you want a CZ that's NOT for carry, that's an excellent choice. Personally, I don't care for guns I can't carry.

You did not say that?!?!?! I can carry all my guns. One at a time. Maybe not concealed...but I can carry them. lol

You do have point there, buddy. But sometimes carry just isn't the only reason for buying/owning. Of course you know I'd say that.

Working day tomorrow? I'm thinking I'll be in your town for a while.

The CZ 75 SP-01 SHADOW ORANGE pistol differs in new procedures and operations added as a part of the serial production process (e.g. the manual fitting of the barrel, the lateral definition of the free movement of the bolt and the sophisticated trigger mechanism). The gun has a burnished barrel and its "orange 2012" name is based principally on its long thin and aluminium grips of that color. The weapon is presented in an identical case to that of the CZ 75 TS CZECHMATE.

  • Improved trigger mechanism
  • polished barrel
  • metal polished recoil spring guide
  • polished recoil spring + recoil spring set (13 lbs. And 11 lbs.)
  • Polished main spring + main spring set (13 lbs. And 16 lbs.)
  • Buffer set (3x thick, 2x thin)
  • orange grips - thin, long (aluminium)
  • 3x magazine with aluminium magazine bottom (orange)
  • defender type rear sights and red fiber optic front sight 5,5 x 2,5 x 1 mm
  • newly designed sa/da hammer
  • cleaning oil, cd, polymer case
  • better shooting comfort, increased accuracy.
  • more stable recoil during shooting.
  • Parts service life increased.

That is a very sweet setup! I'd love one...but the same old story...money.

One reason not to get it.... "Sophisticated Trigger Mechanism"

every cz I had was solid. Only one I regret selling was ramiP. That price point has very limited second hand market. If you want to drool on one Reese has a 991173 on GB, head on over to old hickory...

I can only find it in .40 at the moment but at a very good price. As I understand only about 21 came in the US a year ago in 9. It will also be offered in .357 Sig here one day. If someone's googlefoo is better than mine and you can find a new one in 9mm around $1350 let me know....that is the price I found a .40 for.
