They were made in Spain on M98 actions. Spain, like Belgium, had 100's of gun makers at one time. Reported to be of good quality. I don't have any other info on them. I believe they were imported in small numbers in the 1960's.

Some believe these were new mfg receivers, while others believe the were reworked Spanish M98 surplus. As I mentioned, there were 100s of arms makers at one point and sometimes it's difficult to track down a particular and obscure firm.

If you can find access to any old Guns & Ammo or American Rifleman Mags from about 1958-1967, you might see an add for them. I don't know that any were imported after '68. If you take it apart you might find the word "Spain" stamped on it somewhere. The barrel might have some Spanish proofs (just a guess).
