Because why wouldn't you?

So I just saw this while cruising Instagram.  I had to share it. Once I found out who it was made by, I went to Google because I was going to see about buying one for Monkey.

Then I found the website and found out Monkey's not getting one. LOL The currency is not American and there's 5 digits to most. So yeah, we'll find something else! But I thought this was beautiful and wanted to share. It's called "Son of a Gun" and it's by ArtyA Watches.

Yeah, those are Swiss Francs. Which are just over a buck each in USD. He has watches on that site up to almost $25,000.

So hey, yer sayin' Monkey ain't worth it? :):)

Haha! I'm saying he'd rather have something that goes boom than a watch at that price. I'll get him a swatch!

Holy Crap!!! nice watch...ridiculous prices.

They're beautiful, but I guess their handmade and worth it if you got it! As a craftsman on fine knives, you know this is true! ;)

Interesting designs, some I really like. But this broke old man is with MR&MRS Monkey...I'd rather buy another gun.

One day when I am a millionaire, I will by the Monkey one. And one for you and Mike.357.

Thanks. That's a great idea. Should my lottery winnings every come in...I'll do the same.

Unfortunately for us all, I've never won anything in lotto ticket buying.

I just dropped 19 big ones on a new Timex at Wal-Mart.  I guess I will have to pass;)

I'm a higher roller, my favorite Timex is closer to the 30 clam range.

And I'm retired and don't care what time it is.:hyper:

So am I. But I do watch the time a bit. Like to know when the wife is due so I can fake looking busy.

You crack me up.

I bought this for Monkey one year. He doesn't wear it much because of his job. But it's beautiful. Super huge and obnoxious too. Invicta makes some really beautiful watches, in my opinion. Somewhat reasonable.

Wow.  At that price I will have to pass.  Maybe I'll pick up a $5 watch at Walmart on clearance, put it against a good, strong back stop, shoot it with a .22 short and wear it with the bullet through it.  Yeah, I know, the watch won't work after I shoot it but I use my cell phone to tell the time, anyway.

It's expensive, but it's also a piece of art. I love skeleton watches especially because you get to see the gears and mechanics of everything. Heck, I think I've worn that Russian Diver more than he has! There's something comforting about the ticking too.

I prefer Patek Philippe. Just saying.

What the heck? No idea and knowing you I'm not googling it. However, since he did have a bad day at work I bought him a vintage blanket.

Pretty rad right!?!?

Phillipe watch prices make Arpa's stuff seem like pocket change, as you probably guessed.

Skeleton watches are cool.  I will have to see if I can find the first watch I had when I was a little kid and take pics of it for you.  It is in a big, chunky, clear plastic case/body so you can see the gears - some of which are brightly colored plastic iirc.  To make it even more cool, at the bottom of the watch face there is a little figure of a boy and girl on a see-saw (aka teeter totter) that rocks back and forth with the ticking of the watch.  I am sure it didn't cost much and is just a little plastic thing but I am 45, wore it before I started school and the last time I saw/wound it the thing still worked.  Dangit, now I want to know where it is.

That was before I got upgraded to my second wrist watch - a Mickey Mouse watch where Mickey's hands/arms are the hour and minute hands of the watch.

EDIT :  I actually found a pic online of a watch like the one I had as a kid.  The band on mine is long since gone:

I've got a TSAR I've been sporting since '08. That thing is truly bulletproof.

Youre welcome to take it for a spin if you like.  Mine's on a black silicone strap with a deployant buckle.

Lately I've migrated to Maratac's large aviator.  It's awesome:

if you flip it over, you get to see all the workings:
