Question: de-cocking Ruger P345

My brother-in-law picked up a Ruger P345 and asked me whether they had a de-cocking mechanism.

I checked it out and after cocking the pistol (unloaded) I moved the safety lever from fire to safe and the hammer fell but harder than I expected it to.

For those that have experience with this pistol: Does this actually serve, by design, to de-cock the pistol?

Thanks

Hey all I hunted around and found an online manual for the P345. Should answer all of my questions.

The pistol has been released in both "Manual safety" and "Decocker" models.

I believe you can tell by the serial number... at one point I found a link detailing the numbers, but it is late, and I am lazy...

I had a P93 with a de-cocker, and when released, it sounded just like you pulled the trigger. So that sounds right!
