Sight solution for Long and short range

Recommended Posts

Was at Knifeworks the other day and picked up a cheap $30 red-dot scope from China (Firefield I think was the brand?) I have to admit, for the close-range... it's adequate! Makes one wonder what the $500-dollar models have that's so special, frankly, but at least to get started, and not worry about it getting banged around, it's quite good. I took it out the other night for a couple boxes of ammo, and it worked just fine. I may not shoot competition with it, but it allows me to focus my savings on a nice piece of long-range glass right now instead (and I still can pew-pew out at the land!)

I've had great luck with the 30mm BSA RGB  ($40ish) mounted on my 9mm carbine. Zero complaints, held up through a training class, still zeroed and still on the original 2032 battery.

I will report a failure on the Millet SP1 Red Dot.

Something broke loose inside of mine within 100 rounds, so my opinion on budget...50/50 shot regardless of user reviews.

To keep the thread alive, I am now hunting a reflex. Have read good reviews on the Burris Fast fire.
