Finally going to get my CCW permit!

Recommended Posts

I have put it off to long. I am going to 2nd Amendment Gun Shop in Springfield this Sunday. This guy only charges $50.00 for the class. Can't wait to go to the class and shoot my 48 rounds. Then Monday to Nashville, TN to Vital Records to get a certifed copy of my birth cert. Then, to the drivers license center in Gallatin, TN to give the state my $115.00. Finally getting to go! I feel like a kid at Christmas. gearyr.

Good luck in your class.. :D the 48 rounds should be a breeze....

Be sure to check on the Gallatin office, I believe they are closed on Mondays.... I had to go to the office in Nashville on Centenial Blvd. when I got mine..... They open there at 8am on Mondays... otherwise I believe the Gallatin office is only open Tue - Fri.....

Is there really a place called the 2nd Amendment Gun Shop? I can picture them having a life-size statue of Patrick Henry or someone like that next to the front door. Also, it's not called a CCW Permit in this state. Not a huge deal really, I understand they call it that in other places, but in TN there's no legal requirement that your gun be concealed. But anyway, here's a cold one for you as you begin your journey...:D

I can't remember the two instructors names but they came across as good guys. Ask the short stocky guy, "What is the difference between a Glock owner and an Ohio Buckeye? Nothing they're both nuts!" It seemed he was proud of both entities.

not only is it funny for "2nd Amendment Gun Shop", but the fact its in "Springfield"! Is the instructors name "Kel Tec" and his partner "Mr. Glock"? all my stuff completed / sent in Dec 16th, I'm counting.

I had a blast at 2nd Amendment Gun shop. The 2 guys that gave the class are alright! Made 100% on the shooting part. 97% on the paper test. Went Monday and got a certifed copy of my birth cert. Today ( Tuseday ), went to the Gallatin drivers license place and filled out the paper work. Then $115.00 and my pic made. Going to (now get this) The Sumner County Board of Education and get finger printed tommorow. Then wait till the state gets around to checking every thing and send me my permit. I highly reccommend 2nd Amendment Gun Shop on their HCP class. Only $50.00. They also have good prices on firearms to. gearyr.

Good luck. Not that you'll need it. It's a real cake walk. The most difficult part will be simply staying awake.

Keep us posted.

I nicked the instructor in the foot and still passed with a 47.
