2008 Tennessee Handgun Permit Analysis

Every year legallyarmed.com publishes a Handgun Permit Statistical Analysis on the prior year. The 2007 report can be viewed at: http://legallyarmed.com/resources/tn2007handgunstats.htm

The report covering 2008 will be posted soon.

One area that we will also be addressing in the 2008 report, are actual self-defense incidents involving TN Handgun Permit Holders. These incidents must be documented. If you know about a self-defense incident, we would like to hear from you. You can send the information to: tnselfdefense@legallyarmed.com or you can post it here on this thread with the links to the article or information. We will publish the incident when we speak to the players for their consent and, if we obtain the police incident report.

The reason we publish this report is to give historical data and facts showing how this law works for the citzens of Tennessee, and to counter hear-say & un-documented allegations against this law.

Thanks for the info, very interesting. 3% of Hamilton Cty residents have permits to carry. So, if there are 1,000 shoppers at Northgate Mall, then there are 30 people there carrying handguns. Good to know!

There is. It's any month that contains at least 28 days.

Do these numbers take into account a transfer from county to county? Will that not show up until it comes time for a renewal?
