I didn't know Firemen were armed.

He didn’t either.

This story doesn’t tell why he was placing IED’s in the woods?

They didn't mention why he set these out there.

I wonder if it was to protect some nefarious operation such as drugs or shine or if he was intent on causing harm to hunters and hikers.

My wife is from up that way, little place called Manchester. I will bet my last dollar it was to protect pot plants. She told me when we first got together that Harlin was and still is a rough part of the state.

There has been a few game cameras even around here that have been sabotaged.  The brother of the guy who owns the Archery Den in Franklin was injured by one.  Don't know if this is the same guy, but it has been happening previously.  I am glad he got what it coming to him.

How where the cameras rigged? Were they set to go off while being tampered with or when tripped? If while being tampered with, then it may of been to get camera thieves, or LEO trying to get evidence, if while being tripped then not much use since animals would trip it quickly.

Are pot growers brains cooked so much that they think killing people with IED’s will protect them and their plants?

It's not entirely uncommon for arson investigators to be armed due to the potential for run-ins with the arsonists.

I don't get it. Risking your life for something stupid like growing pot and he probably didn't make peanuts for his cut, life is a gift not to be wasted.

But, that's just me.

I don't blame anyone, at all, everywhere for being armed these days.  This great land is saturated with desperate people, thieves, cartel types and who knows what kind of illegals.

And that's just the Obama supporters hahahahahaha! (I know, not really funny)

I do think it a bit ironic the fire Chief took him out. BZ to him!

There is money in drugs, much lower risk than say B&E, but yeah I'm sure he wasn't getting rich off it.  Just wonder what he was thinking trying to run, and why he wasn't in leg irons/shackles.
