USPS rifle shipping box question?

I have a rifle in the Doskosport case it originally came in. I can’t really find a shipping box to put it in, but it really doesn’t need one; it is a lot sturdier than a box.

If I tape it closed and put shipping labels on it will the post office accept it? My concern is that they may not accept it because it is obviously a rifle case.

Use your case and wrap it in cardboard and tape it up..

I bought off GB a Barrett 50 from a gun shop in Ohio , that dealer wrapped a 70# rifle/case and sent it USPS with no issues..

I would wrap it in another layer of cardboard as suggested or i have even used paper bags (kraft paper) to cover the original box and ship it that way. If memory serves me usps asks that nothing on the box details what's inside.

I always ship usps priority with insurance and signature confirmation and I've never had an issue.

When I have shipped long guns in a hard case I just wrapped them in cardboard.  I cut open two boxes and wrapped them around the case and taped it up real good.  The post office didn't have any problem with it like that.
