It does provide plenty of privacy.

I hope you've got a tractor that makes relatively quick work of it. I'd put the house in the same spot,  but mow 1-2 acres around it, and let the rest go.  The field is good habitat with enough mowed buffer to keep the critters away from the house. 

  My in-laws have 5 acres and mow about 2.  They (and several neighbors) let a nearby cattle farmer have the hay.
