Outwittng the Devil

A book by Napoleon Hill.

Interesting read, especially considering the author, Hill,  claims he has a conversation with the Devil himself.

Yeah, the father of self help and the power of positive thinking, held a Q&A session with God's antithesis.

So far out there, it was written in 1938 but the family did not allow it to be published until 2011...Hill calls out religious and educational leadership and shows how the the Devil (or these negative forces) are influencing their institutions.

A less religious view could be the negative powers of nature, order/chaos, good/evil, creative/destructive, etc.

Whether an out of body experience, communicating with a conscious sub conscious or with some kind of manifestation of negative energy, it is very well written.

If anyone would be interested, I can post some stuff from book for lively and civil conversation...some of the content is relevant today.

I just finished reading the book after seeing your post this morning. I think the whole thing could have been summed up after learning about drifters and hypnotic rhythm. What are your thoughts?

To use a bad pun, the Devil is the the details.

For me, the deeper dive into how one is drawn into drifting allowed more critical self reflection with the specific fears and brides discussed between Hill and the Devil.

Also enjoyed his insights into health and wellness and the problems with education in 1938, still topical today

Agreed, very interesting regardless of whether he actually channeled the devil or not. From a logical standpoint he is just a motivational speaker who wrote a motivational book but from a rather interesting point of view. He could said the interviewee was anyone who could see through space/time.

I liked it although I hadn't read a book in a really long time so I might be partial to any book that would be a quick read and took my head away for awhile.
