We usually block the road with the pickups when we move the herd across it. Dead cows are a pretty big problem if you're the rancher.

That's the biggest risk, some ignorant tourist that can't wait five minutes for us to get across and decides to start blowing the horn and trying to drive through the herd. Cows scatter pretty easily, so stunts like that can cause us a lot more work. The cows have as much right to be on the road as vehicles do here.

Six cars pulled over today to watch a herd walk under a bridge to get to another pasture. I'll be glad when all these folks go back home.

"Watching cows go through a cow tunnel" just happens to be the #2 Top Attraction in Wyoming according to TripAdvisor. It's right behind #1 "Making a mashed potato Devils Tower".
