Maybe it's possible you handled a gen4 when you first looked at them in Gander but bought a gen3 and that's why it feels different to you????

Just a thought...

i think you're right

Mrs GtG has a G3 17 and loves it; she does not carry.

She shoots it way better than  me, but I'm a 10 year CZ fanboy.

My advice, trade the 19 for a P01 (or 75 if you want/need a full size)

I basically had the same problem and the pistol felt 'slick' in my hand. For about $20.00 I got one of those aggressive sand paper like "Talon Grips"  and put it on my G19. Feels way better now and a positive grip even when hands are wet from sweat / rain. Only draw back is I need to wear a t shirt when carrying IWB so the grip doesn't sand paper my pretty sensitive little love handle. As a matter of fact, I put a Talon Grip on my G26 and G43 also. They generally last me about 1-2 years before the back strap portion fails and I need to replace them. But that's because of the texture of the stippling and not much surface area to adhere to.

Gen2 19 is one of the most sought after Glock pistols, ask yourself why?  I don't think its due to collecting.  They just feel so much better.
