Friends

Did the update get rid of the friends function where you could flaunt your popularity on your profile page? I had maybe a down friends before, just realized now I have none. Have my friends forsaken me, or is this just the new software?

That's funny, I just asked David about that very same feature. He said:

"Yeah, they changed the friends system to "Followers" so that you can "follow" a person and receive updates on their activity.  I'm not convinced that the follower concept translates all that smoothly to a forum as it's rather Facebook-esque. "

I asked because I was about to add someone as a friend and couldn't find that feature anymore.

It's too bad that feature is gone. I used to use the friends feature to highlight those I had met in person. (well, only if they were indeed friendly...lol).

I'm still trying to find my "Friends" list that I reckon now are "Followers."  Don't see anything on the profile page about those who I follow.  I get their recent post, but can't message them like I did with the old system when there was a listing of friends.

Am I missing something?

Was wondering about that myself. I also noticed the lack of sig. lines. Still a great site.
