FEG Hi Power questions

I picked up this FEG Hi Power clone from the deal that Buds was running a couple of weeks ago. I've always liked the Hi Power design for it's historical significance, and when this came up for a reasonable price it felt like the right time to take the plunge. Plus, it fits all of my 1911 holsters!

One thing I've noticed is that the barrel is not like a typical Hi Power barrel, it doesn't have the cam typically found on them. Any Hi Power experts that could shed some light on this? Below is a picture of the barrel.

Also, when I completely stripped it to remove all the cosmoline, I couldn't get the two small pins in the trigger group out.  I really want to remove that obscenity-inducing magazine safety. Any tips? Or if anyone knows a good gunsmith in the Nashville area who is knowledgable about Hi Powers, that would be appreciated too. Thanks!

The first gun that I purchased was a K.B.I. version of the HP. It was a model PJK-9HP. One thing that I learned, the hard way, is that the pin that holds the trigger in is tapered. So being the expert gunsmith that I must have thought that I was (I know much better now that I'm no gunsmith), I decided to change out the trigger spring. I drove that little pin out, of course, from the wrong side. Go figure, a 50/50 chance and I chose wrong?! For some reason after I operated on the gun, the pin would work itself out after shooting it for a while.

A friend of mine just recently bought a desert tan FEG HP. It looks sharp and he says that it is pretty tight.

Good news, took the pistol out for its maiden voyage to the range, and after firing it was able to get the pin out! I suspect it was just petrified cosmoline that was holding it in, and the firing loosened her up. Once I removed the mag safety the trigger immediately feels worlds better.

I believe, it is right to left, looking at it from the rear of the slide.
