Tlr-1 or similar for sbr?

Recommended Posts

Anyone have any recommendations for a light for my sbr? I have a round tube hand guard with a rail on top. I also have the option of installing a Magpul rail section in the slots.

I am looking at mounting a tlr-1 at 12 o clock with the flip up sight just behind it.

Also thought of having a rail section on the side and using some type of forward set mount to run the light at about 1 o clock.

^^^^ I was gonna suggest same

ordered 2 of them recently, the Rm1's. My go to guns all run on AA's now. And a plus, they can run cr123's also.

If you already have the light I would say mount it off to the side, not in front of the front sight so you keep what sight radius you have.  If you don't have the light you could go with the above, Surefire, or one of the Inforce lights.

I would also go to the side. I just put a couple on my sbr's. I didn't go with a remote switch yet, so I put them where I could easily turn them on/off with my front hand. I will post a couple of pics when I get home this afternoon.

I think I'll go with the rail mount 1 to save some space on the already short hand guard. Seems like a lot of light and gear for the money! I actually carry a protac 2l every day.

Am incorrect in thinking it comes with the pressure switch?

You confused me. :)

Just to make sure it wasn't a typo. It does come with the switch?

You stated "am I incorrect in thinking" and I said no. Yes the rail mounts appear to come with one. Sorry for my lack of punctuation.

Haha I was the one with the typo. I meant to say am I correct but it grouped it together.

Thanks guys. I'm gonna go ahead and order one of these. Now just 5 or so more months until I get my suppressor. :(

So has anyone purchased the rail mount 2? I just realized the 2 isn't "dual fuel" like the 1 and will only accept cr123s. I like the idea of accepting AAs as well as cr123s but 625 lumens is hard to pass up versus 325.
