McCain Wants To Destroy the Govt Surplus of 1911 Pistols

Not that BHO (or Hillary) is actually going to let the Sec. of Army actually release them, even though legislation passed to allow it,  but apparently McCain wants them destroyed period.

Not the first time this has occurred. Some years ago the Guard destroyed a bunch of 1911's. Our local armored cav unit ran over them with a tank to destroy them.

I was excited to hear CMP was going to be selling 1911’s. But I just couldn’t believe that the Federal government would get in the business of putting handguns in the hands of civilians. I doubt they will. I also was discouraged when I heard they would probably sell for over $1000. I used and carried them in the service and that is a ridiculous price when you can buy a modern, much better 1911 today for less than that. I own an SW1911 and an SR1911 right now and they are both far superior to anything the military has.

I don’t think they should be destroyed, but if they can’t be sold; what else can happen to them, they will never be used?

I have an M1 Garand, M1 Carbine, and 03 Springfield from CMP. I am glad it was a time when we could do that. I doubt we will see it again.

Maybe they would allow them to be distributed to the gay and lesbian community, looks like they are going to need it.

They can give the pistols to us here at TGO. I'm sure we would all destroy them. But wait I've got an even better idea for the pistols. Maybe in a couple of years we can sell them to a group or government and get some money out of them.
