Geocaching

I just started Geocaching. Still learning but me and my daughter love it and it's a great way to spend time with her. Anyone else doing it?

I've done it but not in a couple of years. It's a good way to learn to navigate with a handheld GPS.

Wife and I played to about 8 years or so, until grandkids and health issues created a need for a course correction.  Lotta fun, and sure saw a lot of places I never know existed.  Enjoy!

I've gone on three quests with friends, one around Vincent, AL and two around Pulaski, TN. Pretty dang cool, I can see getting hooked on them, as always something nifty to do pretty much no matter where you are.

I imagine that creating them would be perhaps coolest of all, as it's a blend of disciplines, like offbeat historical info, creativity and humor in descriptions and whatnot.

I started back around 2005. I used a handheld GPS back then. I use the app now and stop ocassionally on the road and log one or two. I've found some in about 22 states.

I use the app as well. I just started last week and so far I've gotten 56. My daughter is 12 and she pretty dang good at finding the ones that are hard to find.

I started some time back but have been on a long break lately due to getting bored, many of the caches are just not too imaginative. I do have some hidden though but have let some get archived to open up areas to other cachers.

I enjoyed hiding puzzle caches.  Some required a bit of cipher-busting, some required internet searches...even did a "Hoplophilia" series of caches where you had to retrieve info RE caliber, military designations, history etc to solve.  They were all well-received in the area.  Multi's are pretty cool, too - you can have a lot of fun with those.
