Steyr Handguns

I am considering the purchase of a Steyr handgun, but before I do, I would like to get some feedback from people that have used them?  Are there any dealers in the middle TN area that sell them?

I've had both the M and I still have an S. Sights suck for me. I was never able to get accurate with the trapezoidal sights. Guns functions well.

I don't have one, but a Steyr is on my short list.  I have shot two so far and loved both of them.  They fit me wonderfully and I shot them very well. The sights are definitely different, but thankfully for me it was a non-issue.  I can absolutely see how they're a pain in the butt, though.

I've gotta get an M9-A1 and a 1911 out of the way first, then I'll probably hit Buds up for a full size 9mm Steyr.

Let us know what you find!

Last time I saw one locally was a used one, and that was a couple years ago. :/

Well, I did own one for a short time. The grip angle, for me, was terrible. If you're accustomed to most grip angles, you'll shoot the ceiling. Even Glock isn't as radical as Steyr. Also, the little hump at the top of the backstrap was very uncomfortable for me. Hated shooting it. It did have a great trigger, but the other things just turned me off.

That being said, you should try one, anyway. It may work great for you. I know there are guys that swear by them. I swore at it, and off them.

10-4 on the grip angle. Seems to be awfully similar to the Glock. Of course Bubits came from Glock prior to designing the Steyr.

Also let me say this is not a Glock bashing post, I just cannot shoot them well due to the grip angle. It just doesn't fit me.

I have two Steyr GB's.  Both manufactured in the mid-80's.  Both are just excellent handguns and continue to function flawlessly.  I've considered selling them over the years but just cannot bring myself to do it.  I enjoy shooting them too much.
