Lowe's carries a wide variety of soft sided tool bags that have some good features for a gun bag such as:

1)  Zippered top

2)  Multiple interior pockets

3) Padded shoulder straps and heavy duty handles

4) Reinforced bottoms

Add in the benefit that heavy things like guns and ammo don't look out of place in a tool bag with the comment already made about how you typically dress and no one will give you a second look.  Plus you just feel and look so much more manly with a tool bag concealing a suppressed AR pistol than a tennis racket bag with a folded AK.

Great idea. I wish I would have thought about that sooner. I've got one that I'm not using. I guess that's what the Draco will be going in.

You're in TN.  A soft guitar case works fine and everyone in the state seems to have a guitar.  My son does this, but I have wondered if this is just about as theft prone a a gun bag.

That's another good point. I have avoided the guitar bag in the past for that reason. Someone would smash and grab that in a heartbeat I think unless it's out of view. There's been times I've just shoved my AR down the leg of an old pair of jeans and carried it out to the truck like that. Looks just like a pair of jeans laying in the back seat, although I normally store it under my seat.

Has anyone that owns an IPad seen the new combo case that protects your IPad and conceals a pistol in a Velcro holster along with extra magazine holder in a zippered compartment. I bought one the other day at Guns And Leather in Hendersonville for $100.00. Really neat concealed case.

I liked the suggestion of the folding chair bag and many of these have a shoulder strap.  Then you could also use one of the thicker gun socks such as BoreStore  inside it to add a little protective cushioning and to help breakup the outline.

Maybe it's just me, but when I see a tennis racket bag, I think GUN, unless the guy dresses the part and drives a BMW/Infinity/Volvo. If you're wearing boots, overweight, or wearing a Carhartt jacket.... well, it's not fooling me.

I'm not trying to fool you.  I'm fooling the sheep! ;)

I use a large folding chair bag for my homemade PVC target stand for hauling to range. Hadn't thought about using it as a gun bag, I may have to check that out for fit.
