Anybody catching crappie?

I'm going this afternoon to fish and I am going to look for them. I've been chasing walleye for the last couple weeks. From what I have read the crappie are hanging in that 15-18' range on brush. Hopefully I find out today.

I don't think it's to bad for a summer pattern. Water here is in the low 80's. I'm getting ready to pull out to head to priest now. Here's to finding them..... And my 2 1/2 year old not throwing a got to quickly

No crappie, just a few bluegill. We were only out for about 2 hours. It's hard to really fish when all the pleasure boaters are knocking you around and the 2 year old is trying to jump out the back of the boat :) I found some schools of crappie or whitebass on a flat right off the channel but could not convince any of them to bite. It was hard staying on them with the wind and waves. Good luck.

I understand. My dog jumped in the truck, and he's never been in a boat. Turns out swimming suits him better than sitting in a boat. The lake was full of people.

I'm planning to take my younger son in the morning...no dog.

I forgot to update this.

We went Tuesday morning. Caught a few small largemouth bass, and one rainbow trout at Cordell Hull. I never did locate any crappie. It was still time well spent with my son. I've never caught a trout there before, so that was interesting.

It's about time to start fishing at night with this heat!

I would not have thought about trout there. I'm sure the come straight down the caney and up to the dam. I'm going tonight after work for about anything that swims.

We are catching them at night on Percy Priest. They are from 4 to 8 feet. Catching limits every night we've been. Using jigs tipped with minnows.
