Yeah it takes a while, but the good thing is that it really doesn't matter. As long as it has your correct address in the system, it really doesn't matter what it says on the permit.

you should have done it on the internet through tennessee.gov. when you do a change of address there, it updates the state computers for both your drivers license and handgun permit. you just have to tell the LEO that your address is not correct on your DL but it is correct in the system. i have yet to encounter a problem from doing it this way. and the best thing about that is it was free. i will wait until my handgun renewal comes up before i have the address changed. that is nothing but a waste of money.

Actually when you do a change of address online you can print a page with your new address that shows you did notify the DOS.

That is what I have done and simply carry that printout in addition to my HCP and DL.

I did exactly that for my DL... got stopped twice last year (Luckly no tickets issued) and I gave them my DL and the print out..... OK both times..

Ditto. I had to use it just today to get my new tags in my "new-to-me" county.

I have done the same thing several times.

The past couple times I have just forked out the few dollars to get a new copy of my drivers license, but my carry permit still has the old address.
