Yes and no.  Yes but keep in mind you're only allocated a small amount of space.  Once you use it up, you have to go back and delete your old photos.

Does that require finding old posts with photos and editing them, or is there an easier way?

Pic in a post linked to your uploaded photo will disappear when you delete the pic, of course.
