Palin Church Burning

Recommended Posts

Now why have we not heard anything about this? Seems like if it was Wright's/Obama or any black church for that matter we would never hear the end of it. http://news.yahoo.com/s/afp/20081214/ts_alt_afp/uspoliticspalinchurch_081214221050

LOS ANGELES (AFP) – A raging fire that police believe might have been set by an arsonist badly damaged the church attended by Alaska governor and Republican former vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin, causing about one million dollars in damage, officials said Sunday.

Firefighters were called late Friday to Wasilla Bible Church in Palin's hometown of Wasilla, Alaska and found flames and smoke pouring from windows in the three-story building.

Five people who had been in the building -- valued at between four and five million dollars -- escaped unharmed, officials said.

"We are definitely treating it as suspicious and as potential arson at this point," said James Steele, chief of the area fire department.

"We just don't have any leads at all as far as the intent or motive in this," Steele said.

Palin was the running mate of Republican presidential candidate John McCain, who Democrat Barack Obama defeated in November in the bid to succeed George W. Bush in the White House.

Palin's office in a statement told church officials that she hoped the incident was not connected to her run for vice president, or her rising political profile.

"Whatever the motives of the arsonist, the governor has faith in the scriptural passage that what was intended for evil will in some way be used for good."

Pastor Larry Kroon, leader of the church -- which draws some 1,000 congregrants on a typical Sunday -- said he was in disbelief.

"Someone intentionally did it, but we don't know who and why," said Kroon.

Local and state investigators are also investigating the blaze, officials said.

Oh it's been covered, but I think the OP is right, had this been a black/leftist church we would have been inundated with it.

BTW, politically McCain is a jackass. I don't think he would have done as well as he did without Palin. I hope we see more of her on the national level in the future (and less of him).

McCain is a huge dirt bag. Remember, he was the one that tried the cram the illegal alien amnesty bill through the congress.

But he's still not as bad as bho.... just for the record...
