Cruel? I was cruel?

The OP confronted an unkown threat pulling along side an unknown car, not knowing who or how many were inside, rolling his window down, grinning and waiving like an idiot. He's lucky he didn't get his face blown off.

Now, he's got his name, id, address, and phone number on file with the Memphis Police Department.

Now, that is tragic.

Ok, first I became a suspect, now I am an Idiot. You are calling me names without ever addressing me, and my multiple questions that I have asked.

.....

Edit: Dude is not worth responding too. Not going to resort to childish name calling.:koolaid:

so.....

well thanks for the heads up! It is a bad time of year for break-ins, and I appreciate the reminder to lock up and watch out. Sorry for your experiences.... you vigilante!!! :P:rofl::)

I've learned a lot in these ten pages that confirmed good feelings I had about our seasoned members, and gave me a not-so-nice feeling about another. It's been fun!

Now, now Verbal is an ok guy. *ducks flying shoe* :)

Well...I did waive the surrender flag after the moderator got involved...

To the OP-> the "suspect" post was, I guess, a *cruel* joke, not remotely serious. I didn't call you an "idiot" just that in a war zone like you all describe the city you are in, pulling up beside a car like that is kinda, well idiotic to me, but hey, I don't live there, so, sorry dude.

So, what would I have done? With what little you described, I would have gone on to the party. But I've got a bunch of older teenagers in my house and my close neighbors are tough asses and don't want help. The other ones don't like us any more than your forum bunch. The only time the law has been called to my area is because of us and, so, that is no option, and the less LEOs on my road the better.

Anyway, dude, you should have just called 911. If you are in to neighborhood watch type stuff, that's what they would tell you to do.

Good luck.

For clarification. 911 is to be used for EMERGENCY services only. I am sure you meant "call the police non emergency line"

Yes, that wasn't an emergency, just call the police department or sheriff's department. You don't want LEOs adrenaline running for something like this. They got enough stess as it is.

But again, I probably wouldn't have done anything. I'm sure the OP felt safer, but I bet his Saturday night Christmas party was lost dealing with the *car following* and subsequent police report.

Man, can you please just pick an argument and stick with it? I'm sure you're probably a good guy and all, but this is getting old.

My argument on what the OP did hasn't changed, you got here kinda late, missed out eating :P, now wanting to ;) it up?

Here's a favorite tune: what would you have done?:P:yuck:;)

Your disagreement with him hasn't changed, but what you think he should have done obviously has. My friend, I've been reading this all long, and I loves me some popcorn (kettle corn is AWESOME!) I just happen to have not jumped in earlier, and unlike you, I haven't said things that I now need to go back and change. Did you not tell the man that he should have just called 911 and go on his merry way in one post, then in another post say that he shouldn't have called 911? Or is my quote feature not working properly?

As to what I would have done... well, I'm generally a bit more passive than most when I'm not feeling threatened, but if I had just gone through what the OP had and then this same situation happened on my street, I would probably have done something similar. I grew up in the hood in Miami and spent a good few nights watching out the window, taking notes, and have actually done nearly this same thing twice at about 1-2AM. Actually helped catch a couple teenage thieves that broke in across the street once.

You stay home and call the non-emergency number if it won't interrupt your partying. Some of the others of us will actually take some initiative and try to ward off thieves and miscreants.

It's quite evident that he chased her out of the neighborhood. Do you not get that? The OP's post specifically says, "I chase her". Sorry, he's stuck with that.

You're drinking too much :P

Nope, to quote you and your way of thinking in a conversation/debate, you're "Stuck with that".

Um... you're a mod. Lock the damn thread already.

I'm pretty sure this thread has run it's course, and nothing worthwhile is going to be added. :P

I'll throw in with that. Verbal and I have already fought, db has said something witty, someone has been a tool, and musicman has gotten a lick or two in, Fallguy has pointed out something intelligent, and unless Tungsten is gonna chime in I think we've pretty much met the formula for a finished thread. :D
