Just got back from the range

This is the second time I've been to the range to shoot my P6. This is my first handgun, the first time at the range I didn't do so good. I've since done some reading and some dry fire practice.

Here's my first 16 shots(8-shot mags), for today, from 7yds

Here's my last 20 shots, 8 from 15yds, 8 from 7yds, and 4 from 7yds strong hand only. The 4 marked 15 and the one in the 10-ring are from 15yds

You're doing good. It takes some practice. Its taken me about 3 years of not very often practice to get to a level where I'm not ashamed to have the other people at the range look at my targets. Haha.

Tighter groups are always better, but I doubt anyone would survive being that first target. While it's fun and beneficial to improve our aim and consistency, the reality is that, assuming you could perform that well under stress (doubtful), the bad guy would no longer be a threat...

Good job!

If outside of 7 yards you probably should be heading in the other direction and/or getting to cover anyhow.

Practice, practice, practice. Keep up the dry firing. Go shooting with a partner and do some ball and dummy drills. It will come with time and repetition. Start close until you are getting the kind of groups you want and then move back.

Do some research on proper grip and stance techniques. When I started shooting, I was surprized at how much I was doing wrong. Of course I got my primary gun education from TV, which is all wrong. Once I started using proper technique, my aim improved tremendously.

Superman, I found this article a while back and found it interesting and helpful. As the others have said learn proper techniques and practice.
