Combat is pretty hectic.  Unless you have a well drilled team/squad/platoon, it's going to be a jumble, and I doubt they have any kind of in depth training regimen as they need people to fight right away.  If you think the ISIS fighters in that video were bad, you should see the Iraqi Army.  They were hapless without us to help them, which is why ISIS took as much territory as they have. 

 

The only fighting force in that conflict I'd call competent is the Peshmerga.
