Ruger American Ranch 5.56

I guess as I age, laziness is overwhelming me.  I bought a can to run on my AR.  I've loved it more than anything I've spent money on it many moons.  BUT, it looks like an elephant took a :poop: in there after a few hundred rounds and I even went with an adjustable gas block to dial it back.  So tired of scrubbing and cleaning.  NO more!!!

This is a 16.125" 1/8 twist barrel w/ a 5,56 chamber.

YH Ti Phantom and a Nikon M223

Its super light, very easy to handle and quick to shoulder.  Much easier to wield than my AR.  It also has a lot longer magazine inside length than an AR magazine.  That'll be sweet for obvious reasons.

I keep a Stevens .223 bolt action handy and find it to be very useful. Great all around rifle that will handle everything from squirrels to deer. Mine doesn't have a can unfortunately.

Kinda wish Savage would have made a rifle exactly like this.  Then I could say.....

But I think the Ruger will do.  It certainly has a better stock than the Axis does...then again, ANYTHING is better than an Axis stock.

I picked the  Ruger American 223 20" barrel over the Savage Axis as the Ruger seemed to feel better when shouldering both.  I could not tell much difference in the overall appearance between the 2 stocks, but the ruger definitely felt better to me.

I've got a 16" version as well and love it.  It makes a great suppressor host beater gun that manages nice groups with good ammo.

I polished up the trigger on mine and it made a significant difference.
