Personally, I would hold up a bit, scrap metal prices are crashing and I may be wrong, but I think bullet prices will have to come down some. At any rate, I am not sure I want 6000 of any one bullet.

We can only hope the ammo prices come down. If you have shot the bullets and are satisfied with its performance in your weapon I see no problem having 6k rounds of the same bullett.

For an alternative, check Widners Reloading/Shooting Supplies in Johnson City, TN. They have different weights and quantities available at what I believe a very good prices, considering current conditions.

Why? I have never seen the "too much" mark. What you don't /can't use, is currency that doesn't drop in value much..unlike the american dollar.

Ammo is the currency of our future.

That sounds like a quote for some TEOTWAWKI movie.

I have looked at Widners, but I would be paying TN state sales tax too. The bulk deals on their site are for Mil surplus bullets. I look to buy a large quantity therefore saving money in the long term.

As a former Boy Scout, I like to be prepared.

Just noticed the replies. I reload for everything. For you guys it might be the right decision to have 6k...100K of the same bullet. I just like to have a variety of bullets for my my reloading such as my 30-06's, 270's, 6mm's, 45-70's, etc. And I use match bullets for some things, FMJ's for others, Blitz, ballistic tips, SX, etc. I have over 6000 bullets right now in reloading room, just not the same 6000.
