Went to look at holsters today.

http://www.manventureoutpost.com/outdoor/index.php?main_page=product_info&products_id=10205

It was a Bianchi Black Widow Hid Ride Holster. one said 2-3 inch.

I really liked the way it fit on belt and body (it's precurved) BUT they didn't have one wide enough for my trigger guard to slide through , wondering if anyone knows if they make these especially for .642 or not cause I tried two different sizes and neither fit . If so do you know the model #?

I want one with a thumb snap.

And I want it to loop through the holes, no snap on or clip on.

High ride fits my body the best.

Also tried a Tagua Thumbreak holster model BH1-712. with a 2 1/8 inch.

It fit the gun.It was very forward cant?(which ever one it is where the grip is pointed in front of you and barrel behind toward ground) quick draw? and grabbing grip would be a bit awkward to do fast.

But I would have to get longer belt, it's pancake style and it doesn't form to my body and I was told it would eventually?

Thanks!

You need this Bianchi...

Bianchi 55L Lightnin' Holster - Plain Tan, Right Hand 13157

The retention strap needs to loop around the trigger guard. It's a real tight fit to get it to snap. I left my 442 in the holster for about a week the stretch the leather on the strap so it would work more easily. To be honest I prefer my Mika pocket holster.

I did see one of those and liked it, it was about $75 but I didn't get a chance to try it out.I was told the problem with 642 is the frame is wider than they used to make them or something plus finding a snap that goes with no hammer.I won't be able to use it for 3 months but I'm still looking for high ride.

I assume you want the thumb snap because you are afraid of dropping the gun out of the holster. A quality holster that is molded for your gun doesn't really need a thumb snap to hold the weapon securely.

Here is one I've thought about buying. For $35.00... it looks pretty good (but I'd buy it in black).

I actually have a Gould & Goodrich B802 for a J-frame with a hammer. My 642 fits in it, but the thumb snap doesn't really hold the gun in.

I've heard, but once again I am always paranoid. The Tagua one looks identical to that it's $33 but has the strap, they have it in black for 1 7/8 and I would prefer that, but the one I tried in person is only in tan and is 2 1/8 and it is open end but I'd be afraid if I ordered the one I didn't try it wouldn't be wide enough, though I didn't have to shove it in the 2 1/8 very hard.
