Anyone else getting a Microsoft Smart Screen Warning?

Recommended Posts

Here is the fix:

1> Control Panel

2> System and Security

3> Security and Maintanence

4> Find "Windows SmartScreen"

5> Click "Change Settings"

6> Hit the bottom bubble that says "Don't do anything (Turn off Windows SmartScren)"

7> Click Ok

It might ask for confirmation but after that it will disable the warnings.

Ok, fixed it.

Got to internet options and under the advanced tab look for the SmartScreen filter. If it is checked then uncheck it and restart your browser. Works for me.

Odd.

Windows 7, have SmartScreen enabled, but I don't get the warning being discussed with FireFox or IE (11).  Must be an additional variable involved. Maybe Edge browser, Windows 10, or combo of both?

You know, something just occurred to me.  Apple has only five letters.  ;)

I recently met a guy who is an IT consultant currently working on a job architecting the infrastructure at one on the large companies in Nashville that owns hospitals.

He had an Apple macbook.  I told him that he has great taste in computers.  He responded that he spends all day worrying about other peoples computers.  He got a macbook so he wouldn't have to worry about his.

I wouldn't suggest to anyone that they replace a working pc with a mac, though next time you need a computer, the macs are hard to beat.  They cost more than a pc up front, but they last much longer and they work.
