Glock 43 Surprise

Recommended Posts

Posted

Bought a new Glock 43 not long ago and recently tried it out. My trigger finger was worn out even before a box of ammo. I'm guessing the pull was 8-9 pounds.

I had a Ghost 3.5# trigger kit installed on my G19 and found it was a little to lite for my liking. This time I decided to drop in a Ghost connector by itself without spring replacement and see what happens? Worked out great! The pull and reset is crisper and it significantly reduced the pull weight to (guessing) about 5-6 pounds, and it's now comfortable and a pleasure to shoot.

Previous to this I had talked to several Glock armorers about replacing only the connector. All said they had never just replaced the connector by itself and didn't know if it would significantly change the pull?

Much better...

That's like saying you talked to an "internet guru" and they didn't know about Google.

there is a bad trigger installed on some glocks intentionally ... I think it is to meet some LEO requirement or something and it does have a 10 pound pull.  You maybe stumbled across one of those?  They are uncommon in free states though,  its like a CA or NY law / requirement.

I bought a Glock 43 yesterday and put a 100 rounds through it today, can't say I experienced what you did.  Neighbors trigger pull gauge weighed it at 6 pounds.  I'll probably be putting the Ghost Inc connector in this one like I did with my 19, because it does make a world of difference.

When NY State Police went to glocks they specified a minimum 10lb trigger pull. Going from revolvers to a 10lb glocks didn't seem too bad to them.

Several sheriff's departments had already made the switch to standard glocks and there were a few leg wounds from unsafe gun handling while holstering (booger hook/bang switch interface). The solution was to make it harder to shoot the gun under any circumstances rather than train the officers properly. Truly sad...

I'm not sure if that's what you got but the parts changed for the NY trigger were the connector and spring. Both make a difference alone, and added together they make for a 10lb trigger. I don't know if they have that option for the 43 though I guess it's possible.

I got one first week they came out and hated the trigger pull  and sold it to a buddy who shot it and liked it. just picked up a used one with a  fired case

dated Nov 2015 and no comparison. This one has a nice smooth trigger pull like a G19,heard they had to work on trigger and they got it down. I also

added a Tuff 1 Grip and it helps a lot.
