M&P Pro Fiber Optic Diameter

I have an M&P 40 Pro Series with the 5" barrel and the Fiber Optic rod in the front sight broke the other day. Rather than sending it in to S&W and waiting 5 weeks I would like to replace it myself. Does anyone here know the diameter of the Fiber Optic on these?

Word on the smith and wesson forums (from using the google-fu) is that it's 0.060 inches.

 

Did you call Smith and Wesson? When I had a locking bolt pin walk out on my 442, a single phone call and they shipped me out a couple of replacements to install myself. Guy I spoke with understood what I needed right off, gave instructions on how to install it and keep it from slipping out again.

It's bigger than what Dawson uses but I can't think of it off the top of my head. I get mine from Shooters Connection when I order something and just add it to the cart.

Midway also has them and you can find them on e-bay and Amazon. I'm surprised an extra FO sight wasn't included with your pistols  packing box.

Thanks for the help. I'm the second owner so there were no spares. I called Smith and they only gave me the option to send it in.

That sounds right to me.  I think Dawson is 40 and Smith is 60.

I know the Dawson's are 40, have them on a couple of pistols, and everything I've seen agrees with you that the Smith is 60
