AR Rail 1/8" lower than reciever

Would 1/8" difference between the rail and upper reciever matter when dialing in iron sights? I know some railed gas blocks are lower but it's usually more than this.

I would think the front sight would have enough adjustment for this.

Should be able to adjust for it. If you can't, then buy a replacement front sight post that is taller, and adjust with it.

It won't be a whole lot, but remember that the free float hand guard may flex  a little as you hold it / rest it on bags / etc. It could be enough to throw off the shot more than your 1/16th gap offset causes. It could also loosen, shift, etc under really hard use.

For example, when I use a very aggressive grip with my 15" Samson Evo rail (on a 20" gov profile upper) it flexes considerably. Same goes for when I have a bipod mounted and loaded.  I had to actually shave more off my low profile gas block (shaved FSB variety) to keep the rail from contacting it when shooting.

This is only a 10.5" barrel so the guard is like 10". It seems pretty solid too so hopefully that won't be an issue. I'm on the fence now about going with a nice set of fixed or folding irons for my primary of just running Magpul MBUS with a red dot. I just don't have any hands on experience with anything other than MBUS in order to make a decision.
