Saints Coach Payton "I Hate Guns"

Recommended Posts

Posted

I am no longer a Saints fan!  Sean, you're an idiot!

https://www.yahoo.com/sports/blogs/nfl-shutdown-corner/sean-payton-wants-change-after-will-smith-s-death---i-hate-guns-212729185.html

“Two hundred years from now, they’re going to look back and say, ‘What was that madness about?’“ Payton said. “The idea that we need them to fend off intruders … people are more apt to draw them (in other situations). That’s some silly stuff we’re hanging onto.”

:stare:

Hey Coach:

Yeah, I read the article on Foxnews.  This guy doesn't know anything about guns.

He said that being shot by .45 acp is guaranteed death - you bleed out in minutes.

They might be saying that about football coach.

I bet he has some people with guns protecting him at football games.  He may even hire some folks with guns to protect him other places too.  What is good for him is not good for you.

Some people on gun forums say the same thing.

This makes me want to throw my Saints hat in the garbage. What a maroon.

At least until they get a new head coach.  His time is almost up.  Maybe he could go coach in NY, CA, or Chicago.  Strict gun laws there so he should feel safe.

As I read the article I also read the comments section-I have to say that most of the comments sound the same-people kill people not guns. It's good that most people are waking up to this fact instead of blaming the inanimate tool.

This is right up there with Whoopie saying if you shot a deer with an AR-15 you'd get nothing but "deer dust"

Ignorance causes loss of OTHER peoples rights, not theirs...

(Full Disclosure I carry a 45acp because I like it not because is some sort of magic bullet.)

People need to realize that 90% of these money people just want their hired guards to have guns and for the common man to not have guns, kind of like the way money people in Europe operate.  If they really followed their principles, then they would not hire armed guards to protect them and their property.

I believe I remember reading recently that Bloomberg had NYPD officers protecting his home in Bermuda and he was able to get the Bermuda government to give the NYPD officers basically Bermuda carry licenses.  Now why do local American police need to carry in a country where most of the police DO NOT (like UK police) carry firearms, very few of the people own guns, and very few of those are carrying guns in public?  Bloomberg doesn't want you or me to own a gun but he gets foreign countries to give his local police carry licenses so they can carry in a basically gun free country to protect him.

Translation: I put my career in the garbage a few years ago w/ the "pay to injure opposing players" scandal. Now my team's record stinks and my QB is nearing retirement. I'm desperate and will kiss any behind to extend my prospects in the NFL (which is becoming more and more PC to cater to soccer moms and sell pink jerseys).

I've never understood the fascination with celebrities' opinions. I don't care what he thinks about guns... space aliens, climate change. If he wants to talk about the NFL prospects of Carson Wentz or Goff as future NFL quarterbacks, I'm interested. Otherwise, I really don't care what he thinks.

Who cares what this overpaid idiot thinks... He lives in a fantasy world anyway... This shootin thing down in New Orleans gave him a bit of a glimpse into the real world... The hell with him and people like him...

His opinion on guns is meaning less to me.  Same with Jane Fonda's politics, Liam Neeson, Tom Cruise,  any of them.   Who cares?  And even further who cares about who cares?

I care about who cares because they support the effort to disarm us no matter how stupid they are.

Smith was carrying a fully loaded 9mm:

http://sports.yahoo.com/blogs/nfl-shutdown-corner/will-smith-had-loaded-gun-in-his-car-when-he-was-shot--police-say-223211305.html

And this:

http://sports.yahoo.com/news/can-saints-make-dent-in-gun-culture-war-in-new-orleans-and-beyond-003648010.html

If guns were really perceived as the problem instead of protection, the deaths of Sean Taylor and Steve McNair and others would have caused change already.

Leave it to the gov't to exploit this:

On Saturday, the day Smith died, there was another kind of coming together. A city vote was held on whether to raise property taxes as a way of bolstering the New Orleans Police Department by putting more cops on the streets. The tax vote was touted as a referendum on public safety.

Voter turnout barely eclipsed 10 percent. The tax was rejected.
