New 9mm AR :)

I liked my last one, but it was a colt mag variety. Was curious to try a Glock version and since I have a bunch of Glock mags and no Glock, the Spartan grabbed my attention. Probably gonna pick up the matching upper with LRBHO when they come available again. New Frontier makes these, but I hate their roll mark billboard. The Joe Bob Spartan looks better. So far I like it.

Updated with current build parts. The beefier Spartan billet side charging upper wouldn't work with the UTG handguards, so I went with the Samson Evo's. Really like the feel of the Samson's. I also like that the Samson fits on an existing barrel nut. Makes it easy if you already have a standard barrel nut. I didn't but I still like the idea for the future.

I like it. Make sure you give us an update when you get the BHO.

Will do. NFA is approaching it a little different. Initial word is pretty good. Well see.

I am a few hours from making my own. I have a barrel just waiting to emerge from a blank. I will be running a 3.5"-4" barrel with my F1 9mm silencer. I will be shooting 160g bullets. That silencer on my CZ P09 with those bullets sound like a airsoft gun.

I like this. A lot. Where do I get me one of these?

That's kind of the hard part. Everywhere is out of them. I filled out a notify by email request with Joe Bob Outfitters and didn't expect to hear anything for awhile, but the lowers popped up the next day every so briefly. Figured I'd grab it while it was there. The uppers still aren't in stock anywhere ATM.

Looks good man. After having trouble from my BHO on my QC10 lower, I was left wishing I had went a similar route as you.

Well just spent some time at the range and I'm tickled pink! Ran flawlessly. Mags dropped free and loaded easily, both Glock factory and KCI (Korean) 33rnd mags. Full mags loaded easily even with a closed bolt. Only had two FTF but that was ammo related. Primers were struck well, just were stubborn. I went through 200 rnds of Herter's brass cased.
Even if the LRBHO upper doesn't work, it's still a winner IMO. Very happy with the Spartan lower and KAW Valley 8.5" barrel.

Here's 100 rnds off hand both eyes open rapid fire at 25 yards. I know some of you shoot pistols better but I was happy!

I'm not sure I fully understand your original post. Who makes the lower and the upper? I've been wanting to find exactly what you have because I too have a bunch of Glock mags.

Thanks for posting.

New frontier actually manufactures them, but these are Joe Bob branded. IIRC the upper he is referring to has to BHO built into it.

That is correct. New Frontier makes these. They make them for Joe Bob under the "Spartan" logo. They also make them for "Runner Runner Guns" out of Texas. The only differences are the roll marks. The NFA logo is a giant billboard and not my taste. I preferred the Spartan and Joe Bob is probably the easiest one stop place to get all the pieces for that build.

Also the same one PSA uses. I bought my lower from runner runner. Waiting on stamp. Just didn't want "joe bob's" anywhere on my SBR....

Update. Got the side charging LRBHO upper. NFA's solution is pretty ingenious and simple. I haven't used it with live fire, but just playing around with it, it works will. I did have to bend the lever a bit to get enough leverage.
I was a bit concerned how it would hold up long term, but as of now I don't think that will be a problem.
Only "problem" I see so far is that due to the lever not having constant tension when the empty mag is removed, the BHO can be disengaged by bumping the receiver. Not major, but something to be aware of.

I'm sure they exist out there somewhere, but I'd love to see some pictures of the catch when you get a chance.

You'd think that, but I couldn't find many either. Seems like it would be easy to get a picture but it's kind of tough. Maybe these will help.
