Bee killer loads

I found that if you get the neighbor kids to tear a huge hole in your screened porch, the carpenter bees come in and can't figure out how to get out. Then you just vacuum up the bodies every week or so. :/

I haven't gotten around to making up any bee killer loads yet, but I've lost count with this here tennis racket.

I'm shooting crushed walnut media over 2 gr of Bullseye, cardstock wads over the powder and shot. Not a recommendation, just info. I killed 50+ last year. I do miss occasionally, so I loaded 100 rounds this year. ;)

OK, I'd love to get in on the fun. Where do I get the 38 cal cardstock wads?

Get the rubberized cork gasket sheet stock from O'Reilleys auto parts. Then chamfer a 38 brass to sharp edge. Tap base with mallet to cut. Do 3 or 4 and then push out of case using a bamboo skewer stick through primer hole. Edited by R_Bert

I use round hollow punches, 5/16 inch for the overpowder wad and 3/8 for the overshot, and scrap cardstock.

Saw a thread on cast boolit forum, guy shooting rice loads using bp revolver, guess you can smoke them to death if you miss them.

That is basically what I did and it worked great.

Now I just use #4 blanks from Home Depot without any media. The concussion puts them on the ground where you can step on them.

Little slow this year with the cool and rain. Have shot less than a 100 so far. Eighty degree temp will bring them out big time. Happy hunting.

I wish I re-loaded. I would pay dearly for some bee loads. .38, .357 , .45 colt long...

Why not start reloading? If you can follow directions and have a degree of common sense. Original expense is a bit high but after that adding calibers and components are only add on costs. $350 to $400 max will get you started.

 Will this work?

When I first started teaching my daughter to shoot, I made up some wax loads for a .38.  I drilled out the primer hole on some cases to 1/8" and used magnum primers with a wax "bullet" and it worked great. How about, magnum primer, cardboard wad, walnut media and cardboard wad?

Fourtyfive, what end of the state are you in?
